Blog Post 2: What To Expect At Your Initial Assessment

A Deep Dive into the Detailed History: The First Step in Your Assessment

In this second part to our 'What to Expect' blog posts, we will dive deeper into why the detailed history is the first and most crucial step in your initial assessment at Endurance Therapeutics. A comprehensive history helps us understand the full picture of your health, lifestyle, and performance, giving us valuable insights into how to create a tailored plan for you. Here’s why this step matters:

1. Identifying Patterns:

Your history reveals past injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions that may still be affecting your body today. Whether you’re an athlete or not, past experiences, both physical and mental, can influence how you move, feel, and perform. Dr. Keirstyn will also get a better understanding of what your level activity has been like in the past and present. This helps her understand your goals and what you are aiming to achieve.

2. Understanding Lifestyle Factors:

Things like work posture, sleep habits, stress, and nutrition can all play a role in your overall well-being. We will dig into these aspects to see how they may be impacting your physical health and performance. Dr. Keirstyn encourages her patients to work on mindfulness in day to day life. This allows the patient to be able to pick up on different habits that they may be doing, good or bad. This allows us to optimize daily activities to work in your favour. Knowing your activity level when starting treatment also allows Dr. Keirstyn to better understand what the stressors and training load you are at.

3. Setting Goals:

We’ll also talk about your goals. Whether it's recovering from an injury, improving strength and flexibility, or achieving a specific athletic milestone. Your goals help shape your treatment plan and guide the direction of your care. Everything at Endurance is done with intention from treatment to education.

The more we understand about your past and present, the better we can guide your future progress. Continue following along to learn more about each stage of the initial assessment at Endurance!
