Frequently Asked Questions:
Everything you need to know about our comprehensive chiropractic care & treatment approach
Insurance & Billing:
-
Yes! We direct bill to most major insurance companies, making your visit hassle-free. We handle all the paperwork and billing directly with your insurance provider, so you don't have to worry about upfront payments or claim submissions.
-
We offer competitive self-pay rates and flexible payment options. Many patients find our comprehensive care to be an excellent investment in their long-term health and well-being.
Our Treatment Approach:
-
While we do provide traditional chiropractic adjustments when appropriate, our approach is much more comprehensive and holistic.
Our appointments are longer (typically 20-40 minutes) and include patient education, soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription, body mechanic screening, and personalized treatment plans. We focus on addressing the root cause of your pain, not just providing quick fixes.
Think of us as movement and pain specialists who happen to be chiropractors, rather than practitioners focused only on the spine.
-
Great question! While both chiropractors and physiotherapists help with musculoskeletal issues, there are some key differences in our approach:
Chiropractic focus: We emphasize spinal health and nervous system function, using manual adjustments alongside soft tissue work and exercise therapy. We're trained to identify and correct joint dysfunction and movement patterns.
Holistic approach: We look at your entire body as a connected system, often addressing issues that might seem unrelated but contribute to your main concern.
Treatment style: Our sessions combine hands-on manual therapy, education, and active rehabilitation - giving you the best of both worlds.
-
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including:
Back pain and sciatica
Neck pain and headaches
Sports injuries
Joint pain (shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, feet)
Posture-related problems
Movement dysfunction
Chronic pain conditions

Treatment Frequency & Expectations:
-
Treatment frequency depends on several factors including your condition, how long you've had the problem, your overall health, and your treatment goals.
Acute conditions: You might need 1-2 visits per week initially, then gradually reduce as you improve.
Chronic conditions: Typically start with 1-2 visits per week, with frequency adjusting based on your response to treatment.
Maintenance care: Once you're feeling better, many patients choose to come in anywhere between 2 - 6 weeks to maintain their progress.
We'll always discuss a clear treatment plan with you after your initial assessment, including expected timelines and goals.
-
Every person is different, but many patients notice some improvement within the first few visits. However, lasting change takes time.
Acute injuries: Often see significant improvement within 1-3 weeks with appropriate treatment.
Chronic conditions: May take 6-12 weeks or longer to see substantial changes, but we typically see some positive changes within the first month.
We'll monitor your progress closely and adjust your treatment plan as needed to ensure you're getting the best possible results.
Getting Started:
-
Your first appointment will be comprehensive and typically lasts 60-75 minutes. Here's what to expect:
Health History: We'll discuss your current concerns, medical history, lifestyle, and goals.
Physical Examination: A thorough assessment of your posture, movement patterns, joint function, and areas of concern.
Diagnosis & Education: We'll explain what we found and how it relates to your symptoms.
Plan of Management: Discussion of your personalized treatment approach and expected timeline.
Initial Treatment: The first session always includes some hands-on treatment to get you started on your path to recovery.
-
No referral is needed! Chiropractors are primary healthcare providers, which means you can book directly with us.
However, if you have extended health benefits or some insurance plans, they may require a referral for coverage. We can help you determine what your specific insurance requires.
-
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. Athletic wear or casual clothes work well.
For women, we recommend wearing a sports bra or comfortable bra, and athletic pants or shorts. For men, shorts or athletic pants and a t-shirt are ideal.
Avoid wearing jewelry, belts, or restrictive clothing that might interfere with examination or treatment.
About Our Practice:
-

If you're in significant pain or have an urgent concern, please let us know when booking and we'll do our best to accommodate you sooner.

While we can't guarantee same-day availability, we do our best to accommodate urgent cases. Call us as early as possible in the day, and we'll see if we can fit you in.
